Hugs for Honduras’ mission is to promote childhood education by providing school uniforms and supplies to the children in the San Marcos de Colon region in Southern Honduras. Our organization currently supports more than one hundred children at the Barranquilla, Las Tapias, Comali, La Benita and San Marcos schools. Please join us by supporting our efforts and help make a difference in the lives of the children of Honduras.
Who We Are
Our History
Hugs for Honduras was established in 2014 after a mission trip with the Rotary Club of Madison, Alabama. Although public education in Honduras is free, we learned that many children did not attend school simply because they could not afford uniforms and basic school supplies. Members of our team set out to sponsor a few children but received such an outpouring of support and donations from friends that Hugs for Honduras was born.

A Small Gift That Can Change a Child's Life
The annual cost to support a child for an entire school year is $115. This provides two school uniforms, one Physical Education uniform and basic school supplies. Annual sponsors are given their child's name, birthday and picture and are welcomed to correspond with the child & their family throughout the school year.
